Protect yourself

Postby Admin » Thu Jul 09, 2009 6:50 pm

We here at RTA ( Retail Theft Answers ) realize you need answers, and may think it is safe to post anonymously here or at other sites. Sadly that is not the case; this site and others can be read by anyone. Your posts can also show up in search engines. We know of several people who have been fired, arrested, or suspended due to posts they made on publicly accessible message boards. Therefore we suggest you use caution when posting to protect who you are. Here are some suggestions

. Do not use a username that IDs you or is username you use elsewhere
. Do not name yourself or other parties
. Do not name store
. Do not give exact dollar value of items
. Do not describe items in event
. Do not give exact date and time
. Do not give city (State is fine and recommended)

If we see a post we feel may ID you we will edit ourself or suggest you do so. Internet postings appear in court more often than you think....
Advice given does not establish an Attorney/Client relationship. If you require legal advice seek a qualified Attorney in your area. Proud member of NSPC http://www.shopliftingprevention.org Image

Do you operate a shoplifting/theft diversion program?

If you work with a diversion program for shoplifting or theft, and would like your website listed on LPSpider.com please contact me through this board. You can also register an account on LPSpider.com, and your link yourself (I will approve your link with a few days).
